The concept of AKB48 Team 8 is different from the existing units. It is : “idols go to meet you”. Instead of performing in Akihabara, the members of the idol unit will hold live performances in various regions of Japan in order to see their fans.

Itano Tomomi’s new single Little will be released on February 5.
This is the 5th solo single from the former AKB48 member Itano Tomomi. 3 versions are available. The coupling song is different for each one of them.
Itano Tomomi wrote herself the lyrics of the title song Little.
The MV has been released.
26 members from AKB48, SKE48 and NMB48 held their coming-of-age ceremony (成人式, seijin shiki) on January 13 at Kanda Shrine in Tokyo.
Watanabe Mayu, Shimazaki Haruka, Yamamoto Sayaka and Watanabe Miyuki were part of the girls who became adults. They were all wearing beautiful furisode.

Oshima Yuko announced her graduation from AKB48. She will continue her solo activities.
It was a surprise for everyone as she hadn’t told anything about it to other members of AKB48.
The announcement was made at the 64th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen 2013 (第６4回ＮＨＫ紅白歌合戦) on December 31.
Details on her graduation ceremony haven’t been revealed yet.
AKB48 Team B’s TV show Saturday Night Child Machine (サタデーナイトチャイルドマシーン) will be released on DVD on December 27.
The members of AKB48 Team B Shimazaki Haruka, Kashiwagi Yuki, Watanabe Miyuki, and more, host various segments in this variety show.
Saturday Night Child Machine was broadcast between April and June 2013 on NTV (日本テレビ).
Sato Amina announced her graduation from AKB48. The date of her graduation ceremony hasn’t been revealed yet.
Sato Amina decided to leave the idol group in order to become a seiyuu (voice actress). She has already experience in voice acting as she played as Ichijo Yuka in the anime series AKB0048.
AKB48’s 5th album Tsugi no Ashiato (次の足跡) will be released on January 22.
The album Tsugi no Ashiato includes AKB48’s latest singles (Manatsu no Sounds Good, Gingham Check, UZA, Eien Pressure, So Long!, Sayonara Crawl, Koi Suru Fortune Cookie) and new songs performed by various teams and sub-units.
Uchida Mayumi‘s book Ienai Koigokoro (言えない恋心) will be released on January 31.
Uchida Mayumi is the first member of AKB48 to make her debut as an author. She wrote a romantic fiction about idols. Ienai Koigokoro is a collection of short love stories.
Ienai Koigokoro is published by Kodansha. The book has 192 pages.
