It has been announced that AKB48 members Kawaei Rina and Iriyama Anna were attacked and injured by a man during a handshake event held in Iwata.
The man used a sharp object, a knife or a saw, to attack Kawaei Rina and Iriyama Anna. He injured both members of AKB48 and a staff employee before being arrested by the police.
They have been taken to hospital by ambulance.
AKB48‘s website published the preliminary results of the AKB48 37th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo (AKB48 37thシングル 選抜総選挙).
Sashihara Rino is ranked 1st with 37,582 votes, being possibly the first person to ever rank 1st twice in a row for the event.

Kizaki Yuria (AKB48), Miyatake Mio (bump.y), Matsui Airi and Miyoshi Ayaka (ex Sakura Gakuin) will also make some appearances in the drama.
The story is based on the popular manga GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka, グレート・ティーチャー・オニヅカ) by Fujisawa Tohru.
AKB48 Haru Con in National Olympic Stadium ~Omoide wa Zenbu Koko ni Suteteike!~ (AKB48単独 春コン in 国立競技場～思い出は全部ここに捨てていけ！～) will be released on DVD on June 13.
AKB48 Haru Con 2014 was held on March 29-30, 2014 in Tokyo. However, Oshima Yuko’s graduation ceremony, which was scheduled on the 2nd day of the live performance, was cancelled and postponed due to a stormy weather.

Melody Nurramdhani Laksani ranked 1st with a total of 14541 votes. Jessica Veranda (13285 votes) and former AKB48 member Nakagawa Haruka (13276 votes) came in 2nd and 3rd positions.
Former AKB48 member Akimoto Sayaka will be starring in the movie Doreiku Boku to 23-nin no Dorei (奴隷区 僕と23人の奴隷).
The story is based on a popular manga of the same name by Okada Shinichi published on the website E☆Everystar (E☆エブリスタ). 23 people participate in a game and can use a special item to turn other players into their slaves.
