Japanese idol group Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku is in mourning.
It’s with delay but also with sadness that we announce to you the recent death of Matsuno Rina occurred of February 8. The news broke shortly after 11:30am (JST) on FNN Spark.
Matsuno, fallen ill a few days ago, was resting at her home in Tokyo while the rest of Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku members was performing a concert in Osaka on February 7th. At around 5:00am, on February 8th, her family contacted emergency medical services (119) as her condition had worsened. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Matsuno passed away at the age of 18.
At the time that the news broke, the Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku site had become inaccessible due to heavy traffic.
A representative of the talent agency Stardust Promotion reported on February 10 that the cause of her death was a lethal arrhythmia.
The members of the group, Nakayama Riko and Kobayashi Kaho, appeared the day of her death on radio broadcasts to offer their condolences.
Sadly ironic, the idol group had released a video clip of the song Sudden Death from their two best-of albums last November.
Matsuno Rina was born on July 16, 1998. She had integrated Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku on May 22, 2010 and had number 9 under the group ; she formed with Ebichu another group named 5572320 in March 2015 . Previously, she was member of Minichia☆Bears.
